Hello and welcome to Indiepocalypse!

Indiepocalypse is a curated monthly collection looking to highlight the very best of the alternative indie game scene. 

Each month features games by 10 different developers, including a newly commissioned game exclusive to the bundle-zine. The games cover a wide variety of styles, genres, and themes as they fight against any definition of "indie game" as a genre.

Also, and this part is very important to me and should truly be taken as given, each contributor is paid and developers are paid royalties on all future sales.

This Month's Games

NYX (WIN/MAC/Linux) by Grayson Thomas

We as humans have long looked to the stars in awe; we seek to study and understand their beauty and majesty, their nature and how it shapes us, figments of stardust all the same. And we at the UIPSC have formed an alternative hypothesis to answer the single greatest question humanity has to ask -- are we alone in this universe? What if the answers we seek are not found in the orbit of distant stars but in the spaces in-between? The NYX program, funded by your taxpayer dollars, has sent brave explorers into the abyss -- four crewed missions have taken place thus far between 1970 and 1979. And recently, we have received funding and support for a fifth! Without further ado, we at the United International Pioneering Space Collective are proud to present to you the crew of ESPM-05 -- or NYX V. *Ad astra, ad tenebras,* brave explorers...

A brief work of cosmic horror playing out in just under 500 words, *NYX* is the final recorded transmission of the ESPM-05 (NYX-V) crew on their first and final spaceflight.

Centrist Simulator (WIN/MAC/Linux/Browser) by yo252yo

Can you save humanity from itself by idling? This innovative minigame puts a twist on the genre by introducing an element of competition: if you want any hope for a future, you'll have to out-race the damages of the climate crisis. Winning will require all your management skills and out-of-the-box thinking, so be a smart investor and build the right portfolio to survive the most dangerous century of the history of mankind!

ScribeOS (WIN/MAC/Linux/Browser) by Milo Duclayan

ScribeOS is a 2-player digital and physical larp about computers, betrayal, and America. Break the boundaries of technological space, or die trying.

One of you is the Operator. One of you is the Administrator. Both will need to be vigilant in order to complete the program. Just remember: follow the rules, always, and your country will survive.

Harold's Walk (WIN/Linux) by Luke Vincent

Harold's Walk (2024) is a remaster of the original Harold's Walk game that debuted on the Nintendo 3ds in 2020. Odd and unusual spaces comprise most of your journey as you venture forth and WALK.

Piscis x Machina (WIN) by Flowt x Tyler Tomaseski

A fishing game at the end of the world. Quietly contemplate the meaning of life. Fish yourself and helpful items across your trash island. Collect Coherence Cores. Save the planet?

CITYPURGER (WIN/MAC/Linux) by MindApe

A kinetic brainwipe for citybound psyches! A soothing and informative walking tour of glitchbuild architectural nullities that also cleans out unwanted mental detritus. Let our patented logobuzz hypnotype wash over your buildingweary brainpan... All while you effortlessly fortify your subconscious for future oneiric scenarios. Repeat wash cycles as many times as needed. No two runthroughs are the same!

Calcification (WIN/MAC/Linux) by Elliot White

You are alone in your lord's divine sanctum. No heroes have come for you to slay, nor duties to fulfill. Your body is becoming stone, your vigil never ending. Fulfill your fate.

Calcification is an exploration of waiting, losing faith, and watching all around you turn to dust. After the failure of the villain’s plan, you play as a boss in a dungeon. Abandoned by the interest of heroes you languish awaiting a fate that will never come. Using RPG Maker, it it flips the traditional structure of fantasy RPGs on its head. It answers the question "what is that Souls boss' life like when you gave up on the first level?"
