Indiepocalypse #76
A downloadable game for Windows
ISSUE #76
Cover - CrabWithKnife
Hello and welcome to Indiepocalypse!
Indiepocalypse is a curated monthly collection looking to highlight the very best of the alternative indie game scene.
Each month features games by 10 different developers, including a newly commissioned game exclusive to the bundle-zine. The games cover a wide variety of styles, genres, and themes as they fight against any definition of "indie game" as a genre.
Also, and this part is very important to me and should truly be taken as given, each contributor is paid and developers are paid royalties on all future sales.
This Month's Games
Hawk's Judgment (WIN) by Bradley LeFay II

Play as a chicken whose job is to decide which citizens of a town deserve to live.
Skin & Bones (WIN) by Bradley LeFay II

Play as a pile of bones and go on a quest to reclaim your stolen skin.
Tower of the Necromancer (WIN) by LastZimOnEarth

Mutual feelings between two young men start bubbling to the surface as they come into conflict with a necromancer that has taken residence in the tower northeast of the small island village they have been staying in.
It's not an RPG exactly but it has a few RPG battles so it's not a pure narrative game either.
Happy LANd (WIN) by Sam Brown, Miadora Mcgill

A cozy puzzle-platformer about connection and overcoming struggle together.
First Moves (WIN) by Sam Brown, Miadora Mcgill

a hand-drawn story about moving, making friends, and turning a new place into home.
You Can't Win This Game (WIN/Browser) by Marta Yomissmar

Go to work and save enough money to follow your passion! "You can't win this game" is a short tale about how capitalism has corrupted dreams, using them as fuel to mantain the culture of effort's lie.
misura tacet (WIN/Linux) by f.lorui (Creator), Velvet Wulf (3D Character Artist)

What do you do when you wake up [?] after the world [?] ends?
Guide Kumira and Binko as they try to find any other living [?] soul besides themselves.
Find forgotten moments in the world [⸮] and interact with them as you wish, or don't.
Dirk the Dictionary (WIN/Browser) by Landon X. Jenkins

You are Dirk the Dictionary! As the magical mascot of PerfectWord '95 (think "Clippy" with muscles), you save poor souls from hilariously bad grammar, one click at a time! You've got looks, magic, a vocabulary a mile wide, and a trusty coworker -- Jack the Donkey -- who practically worships the ground you walk on!
Of course, you're always the smartest one in the room...right?
Million Scars (WIN/MAC/Linux) by Game: CemII Music: Keeg

A low resolution twin stick shooter where you paint your screen with blood.
Bifurcation (WIN/MAC) by M. Ezra Zhang

An occult mystery point-and-click adventure game. You wake with no memory of the past few days, only to find out your lover Clara has been murdered, and your fellow villagers believe that you did it. By nightfall you’ll need to bring back three pieces of evidence to change their minds.
Blueprint of a Ghost (Physical) by M. Ezra Zhang

Blueprint of a Ghost is a collaborative map-making TTRPG about a group of ghosts bound to the home they once shared. Each defined by a single emotional weight that holds them in limbo, the ghosts have long forgotten their names and who they once were beyond its walls. All that remains are their memories of the house. Will the ghosts cross over or remain to haunt this house and every generation that follows?
VIOLENCE at the End of the World (WIN/MAC/Linux) by Salty P. Slug

VIOLENCE at the End of the World is an audio-visual poem which meditates on the ethics of naturalistic violence versus ideological violence. It is powered by the Videotome engine and was originally created for Noise Jam 2.

bonitāka's aquarium of medusae (WIN) by bonitāka

Help a marine biologist's research by pilot a submarine, as you tune in to the souls of jellyfish... and maybe help her learn a thing or two about life too...
Made as a gift to myself for having made 22-and-a-half years around the sun, I gathered some friends of mine to voice some characters and write the music for the game. Welcome to my aquarium of jellyfish!
*BONUS*Electric Zine Maker (WIN/MAC) by alienmelon
